It is 1.37 in the morning and I can’t sleep. Goodness I hate this insomnia!
Anyway, since I’m awake and have already cleaned the kitchen and started the dishwasher, maybe the typing and the whirling sound of the dishwasher will get me drowsy. Here’s hoping…
C had fall break this Monday and Tuesday. I took the boys swimming on Monday at the gym. They had a fun time and took really good naps afterwards! Tuesday J and I took C to the dentist to get his teeth cleaned as I had taken J a couple weeks ago. C’s teeth are fine and the dentist is not yet worried about the thumb sucking, as C is showing signs of slowing down. (I think the kids on the bus have been teasing him, as C has mentioned several times that some of the kids call him a baby. I’m sure some of the name calling is because he is a kindergartner, but some of it has to be because of the thumb sucking.)
C sucks his thumb as he is getting sleepy and when he needs comfort. I’ve noticed that a few of his top teeth are loose (he has only lost 2 on the bottom and grown in his adult teeth). Once he loses a couple of top teeth, maybe he will “lose suction” and not be able to suck his thumb anymore… (?)
C was really excited to go back to school. He is thriving in kindergarten. I’m loving seeing his classwork that he brings home, and his writing is improving weekly.
C is maturing a lot, especially during the past couple of months. This afternoon I was sorting a couple freshly laundered baskets of C and J’s clothes and C started helping me - without being asked! C even told me “Thank you for washing my clothes and J’s. You do a good job.” Awwww - Thank YOU, C! Mommy needed to hear that.
