The site will be undergoing some minor maintenance over the next few days. Please ignore the dust and falling bricks.
Police Officer in Training
Posted March 6th, 2008 by Mom | Comments (0)
C and J both have sets of finger lights. We got them at our last visit to the Children’s Museum.
Last night around 8 p.m. I went out to do an errand. B wasn’t home, so the boys came with me. J had on his index finger a blue light and on his middle finger a white light.
I think I looked in the rear view mirror at least 50 times thinking their was a police officer behind me with his lights on!
Before there were computers, your Mommy existed.

Last night as I was rocking J at bedtime, we were discussing school. Last week his class was studying the letter T. On Friday of each week, the kids bring for “show and tell” items that begin with the current letter being studied. J missed school on Friday since he and C had doctor’s appointments. This week they will study the letter U. We also discussed U items after the following discussion…
J was asking me what he was going to bring for show and tell that started with T and I told him about telephone, top, tooth, teeth, train, etc. I then mentioned “typewriter.”
Precious, young J asked me, “What’s a typewriter?” (Wow, another moment for me to feel old.) To explain it simply, I told him that it was what people used before they had computers. That people had to wind paper into it and use a keyboard to type papers.
This reminds me of C asking about cassette tapes and “What’s a record?”
Aaaahhh, the ever changing world we live in. Who knows what my children will invent. Today, the weather was in the 70’s. After church the boys enjoyed playing outside in the minimalistic amount of sand in the sandbox. Maybe the boys will create a sandbox that never needs refilling? (Reminder to B, we need another 12 bags or so of sand for the sandbox… and another wheel for the wheelbarrow…
Spring is on the way!!!!!!!!!
1st bike ride of 2008
Posted March 1st, 2008 by Mom | Comments (0)
It was a warm, beautiful day here today. The weather was close to the 70’s with lots of sunshine. Absolutely gorgeous!!
C and I decided to take our first bike ride of 2008 to the park/river near our home while B and J stayed home for some 1-1 time. It is about a 2 mile round trip (I guess), but well worth it. (Hey, B - I need a new odometer for my bike, please!) I could tell that C was getting tired when he started to stop frequently for water breaks.
On our way home, the ice cream truck came into the neighborhood. I told C that if we made it home in time, we could get some ice cream. Poor C’s legs were really hurting, but he pushed through. Almost home and the ice cream truck turns into the cove before our home. C starts crying that he won’t get ice cream (plus he is extremely tired from the ride - he had already asked me to massage his legs.). I park my bike in our garage and tell him that the ice cream truck is coming back and for him to wait and see while I get some money. I then come in the house to ask J if he wanted any (dumb question… of course he wanted some!) ice cream.
Boys are asleep now for rest time (so is Daddy, sick Daddy) and I am going to go make some more stenciled cards to sell.
Spring is on the way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Woo Hoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
