When it Rains it Pours
Posted June 26th, 2007 by Mom |
Yesterday late afternoon we had quite a storm. I thought it was going to be just a “summer rain” that would clear the air and raise the humidity level. Plus it would prevent me and B from doing yard work, which needs to be done.
When the rain started, I knew that the boys would be occupied inside watching a little television while playing with legos. So I decided to take a quick shower. As I was getting dressed, I heard hail hitting the frosted window in our bathroom. I ran to the living room to look out the window and found that the boys had left the back door open. Rain, leaves and hail were blowing in and making quite a mess.
I sat down at the computer to turn it off, in case of a power surge and heard the garage door open. B was home. I asked him if he got the mail and his response was, “Ha! My shirt got soaked just walking from my car to the garage!”
A few minutes later we heard fire engines. A friend’s house (Lisa’s) a few doors down from us got hit by lightening. They are fine, but it was a realization that I shouldn’t take a shower while it was raining.
