Funny C and J

Here are a few comments from C and J:

1. Yesterday, C had a t-ball game to attend. About an hour before game time, I was in the shower. I had already cleaned up J while C watched a little tv. Right before I got out of the shower, J started playing in my bathroom. He tossed a few hair brushes, nothing too serious, but soon I smelled my new perfume and panicked thinking that J had broken my new bottle of perfume. As it turned out, C had gotten a hold of one of the samples of perfume and doused himself in Juicy Couture. Granted he smelled nice - you could smell him in the next town over! I threw him in the shower with me and soaped him up as much as I could. It helped, but not completely. One of the other Moms at the t-ball game suggested we change his name to the feminine form of his name. I’m sure he just wanted to smell good like Mommy.

2. At C’s t-ball game, in one inning, C played catcher. He was quite a ham! He loved turning around to face the fans and talk about the catcher’s mask that he was wearing. When he first put it on, he said, “I’ve never wore this before in my whole life!” At another point in the inning, he was watching the fans instead of the ball. The pitcher tossed the ball to the batter just as C was turning back around and the ball hit him lightly in the abdomen. C said, “Wow! That hit me!” (Duh!) Then after a stunned moment, he picked up the ball and threw it back to the pitcher. C laughed along with the fans.

3. After the game, we went to a fast food restaurant with a play area. B went to tell the manager about a piece of the equipment that needed to be repaired. After they talked for a moment, bold little J went up to the manager and grabbed his hand, shook it and said, “Nice to meet ya.” B and I aren’t sure where J learned to do that. We don’t really want to encourage a 3 year old to shake hands with strangers, either! J is such a shy, reserved little guy. NOT!

4. This evening, B is working late - seems to be the norm lately to have at least 1 late night a week - so the boys and I went out to get some dinner. C and J wanted tacos and I wanted Chinese food. I fed the boys and then went to fold some clothes in my room while they watched a fireman documentary. I came out of my room to see J putting rice in our spare printer with the remainder of the rice on the carpet in the living room. After disciplining J, I cleaned the printer (hope it wasn’t too important to you, B!) and the carpet. Oh, how I want hardwood flooring! This carpet is barely surviving C - no hope of surviving J!

5. Today I mowed grass. J found a marble size gold colored metal ball. He was playing with it until he lost it in the grass. As I was looking for it this evening, a couple and their small child walked by. To get C and J away from bothering them, I asked J to “please be useful and help me find the ball.” J replied, “I don’t want to be useful.” (3 going on 13.) BTW - I did finally find the ball. I didn’t want to risk the mower throwing it next time I mowed.
